The 1. FC Kaiserslautern looks to continue its strong start to the 2. Bundesliga season when it hosts SV Darmstadt 98 at Fritz Walter Stadium.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CET Saturday.
The history between the two clubs is short, but the spoils have been evenly split. The Red Devils and the Lilies have faced off 15 times in competitive matches, with five wins for FCK, five for Darmstadt and five ties.
Kaiserslautern holds a commanding advantage on the Betzenberg, though. The Red Devils have won four and drawn three, including a 3-1 victory over the Lilies on the fourth matchday of last season.
While Darmstadt wears blue and white as its main colors, red has been the theme for the last-place team in Germany’s second division. The Lilies have had a player sent off in their last two league matches — Kai Klefisch in a 1-0 loss in Dresden and Aleksandar Vukotic in a 1-0 defeat to Hannover.
Darmstadt has played a combined 90 minutes down a man over those two matches.
The visitors’ start mirrors their end during the 2025-2026 campaign in which they finished on a nine-match winless streak.
FCK, meanwhile, needed three matches to find the back of the net, but with three goals in its last two matches — a 1-0 win over archrival Waldhof Mannheim in the DFB Pokal’s first round and a 2-1 victory over St. Pauli on Sunday — things are looking up as the Red Devils have shot up to sixth place in the 2. Bundesliga with five points.
Kaiserslautern will be without a few key pieces Saturday. Finnish midfielder Naatan Skyttä will miss his third consecutive match with a knee injury, striker Ivan Prtajin still is recovering from an Achilles tendon tear suffered in January and midfielder Owen Gibs is out with a groin injury.
Newcomer forward Milos Lukovic, on loan from French side Racing Strasbourg, is questionable as he continues to return from a muscle injury.
Limited tickets are still available at FCK’s website.
