A batch of frozen berries sold at off-base grocery stores in Germany and Luxembourg is being recalled because of possible hepatitis A contamination, according to a Monday announcement from Landstuhl Regional Medical Center’s public health division.

The recall applies only to 750-gram bags of “ja!” frozen berry mix with lot code L-26085 and a best before date of March 15, 2028. Other lots of the same product are not affected.

The berries were sold at REWE, Nahkauf and HIT grocery stores in Germany and Luxembourg, according to the announcement.

Anyone who purchased the recalled berries should throw them away or return them to the store for a refund. Anyone who ate the berries and develops symptoms such as fever, fatigue, nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, jaundice or loss of appetite should contact a health care provider.
