Have you noticed the colorful new fish sculptures popping up around Kaiserslautern?
Seven new fiberglass fish were selected by public vote from 73 design submissions and are now on display at the city’s entrances along Pariser Strasse and Mainzer Strasse.
The fish have been part of Kaiserslautern’s cityscape since they were first installed in 2001 to celebrate the city’s 725th anniversary and raise awareness of the city’s fish mascot. The new designs were added this summer as part of this year’s 750th anniversary celebrations.
Businesses, organizations and even individuals can apply through Sept. 15 to purchase their own fish sculpture from the city.
