Despite an earlier announcement that the Baskin-Robbins in the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center food court would permanently close, the ice cream shop is sticking around, just in a different form.

A spokesperson for Baskin-Robbins told Stars and Stripes its KMCC location will be integrated into the Dunkin’ storefront in the same building. The transition is expected to be completed by mid-July, though an exact timeline has not been confirmed, the spokesperson said.

KMCC officials originally announced on Facebook in early February that the Baskin-Robbins location would permanently close later that month. While the shop temporarily shut down earlier this spring, it has since reopened.

That closure was caused by supply issues, according to a KMCC official.

For now, customers can still order ice cream from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

KMCC officials have not announced what business will take over the current Baskin-Robbins storefront, though an official confirmed plans are underway to bring in a new vendor.
