Kaiserslautern’s annual spring fair kicks off May 29 at 5 p.m., bringing 11 days of rides and festival fun to the city’s Messeplatz.

The Lautrer Kerwe, featuring bumper cars, fair rides, beer gardens and food options, will run through June 8.

Mayor Manfred Schulz will open the fair with the traditional tapping of a beer barrel, followed by fireworks at 10 p.m.

The fairgrounds are open daily from 2 to 11 p.m., with some food stalls and children’s rides opening at 11 a.m.
