Longer wait times are expected at vehicle registration facilities across the Kaiserslautern Military Community due to a technical issue with the scheduling and queueing system introduced last summer, officials said.

The vehicle registration team stopped taking appointments through the Motorized Transportation Operations, Registration and Safety, or MOTORS, system last week, but customers can continue using it for queueing through Thursday, according to a statement from the 569th U.S. Forces Police Squadron vehicle registration team.

Beginning Friday, operations will fully switch back to the 2-Meters platform for both queueing and appointment scheduling at the main vehicle registration station on Kapaun Air Station and the substation on Ramstein Air Base.

Customers can begin booking appointments that day for services starting Monday, and the system will be used until further notice.

Those seeking support at the Kapaun substation must sign in on site and will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

The 2-Meters platform was replaced by the web-based MOTORS system in June, allowing customers to upload registration documents for review before visiting in person to reduce no-shows and appointment shortages.

Previously confirmed appointments scheduled through April 16 will still be honored, according to the statement.
