The Kaiserslautern Military Community will briefly see the time difference with the United States change this month as the two regions switch to daylight saving time on different dates.

The U.S. will move clocks forward one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, marking the start of daylight saving time across most of the country.

Germany, along with the rest of the European Union, will not switch to daylight saving time until March 29.

That three-week gap temporarily shrinks the usual time difference between Germany and the U.S. by one hour. Once Germany moves its clocks forward, the typical time differences will return.

The shift can affect scheduled calls, livestreams, virtual meetings and broadcast times for people coordinating between Europe and the U.S. during the three-week window.
