The Kaiserslautern Military Community Center now offers special shopping hours designed to create a calmer experience for customers who benefit from a less stimulating environment.

Sensory-friendly shopping hour will take place the third Sunday of every month from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., according to AAFES representatives speaking during a Jan. 29 virtual town hall.

During this time, overhead music and announcements will be turned off, lights will be dimmed and checkout register sounds will be reduced to help create a calmer shopping experience.

The store will open to the general public at 10 a.m.
