1. FC Kaiserslautern welcomes Hertha BSC Berlin to Fritz Walter Stadium on Saturday, for the second division’s night game, with an 8:30 p.m. kickoff.
The Red Devils are looking to get back into a winning groove, following two straight 1-1 ties.
They go into the 12th week of the season in sixth place with 20 points, on six wins, three losses and two ties. Hertha is in eighth place, with 17 points, having won three games in a row.
A possible starting lineup for FCK is Julian Krahl in goal, Luca Sirch, Maxwell Gyamfi and Leon Robinson on defense; Paul Joly, Fabian Kunze, Semih Sahin and Mika Haas in midfield; with Naatan Skyttä behind strikers Daniel Hanslik and Ivan Prtajin, who is looking for his ninth goal of the season.
Kaiserslautern and Hertha will meet again on Dec. 2 in Berlin for the third round of the German Cup.
It is “Tradition Day” around the Betzenberg on Saturday. FCK fans will meet downtown at St. Martins Platz at 2 p.m., then march together through town to Fritz Walter Stadium at 4:30 p.m. The stadium is again close to being sold out.
The top leagues pause next weekend for national teams’ World Cup qualification matches. The Red Devils are back at Fritz Walter Stadium on Nov. 23 for a 1:30 p.m. game against Holstein Kiel.
