TRICARE Open Season begins Nov. 10 and runs through Dec. 9, giving eligible beneficiaries time to enroll in or make changes to their health plan for 2026, according to a TRICARE statement. Updates made during this period will take effect Jan. 1, 2026.

Federal Benefits Open Season, which covers the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program, also starts Nov. 10 but ends Dec. 8, the statement said.

Eligible plans for enrollment or changes include TRICARE Prime, including Remote, Overseas and Demo options; TRICARE Prime US Family Health Plan; TRICARE Select and TRICARE Select Overseas.

If you’re eligible, you can enroll in a plan if you’re not currently covered or switch plans if your needs have changed. You can also stay in your current plan, which requires no action.

Open season does not apply to active duty service members or those with TRICARE For Life. TFL coverage is automatic with Medicare Parts A and B.

Premium-based plans such as TRICARE Reserve Select, TRICARE Retired Reserve and TRICARE Young Adult can be changed or purchased at any time.

You can make changes online, by phone or by mail.
