Despite the Halloween buzz, Saturday will be unusually quiet across Rheinland-Pfalz. All Saints’ Day is a “silent holiday” observed annually on Nov. 1, which means most stores will be closed Saturday and public festivals are restricted out of respect for the occasion.
Fortunately, Sunday picks up the slack, with two nearby cities hosting shopping events.
Bad Dürkheim offers a cozy street market with warm drinks and autumn snacks from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Shops will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Free admission.
Kusel’s Sunday shopping event includes retail hours from noon to 6 p.m., plus street food and live music. Free admission.
Prefer culture over shopping? These performances offer alternatives.
