Be sure to get your weekend shopping done by Friday this week.

All Saints’ Day, a German holiday observed annually on Nov. 1, falls on Saturday this year in Rheinland-Pfalz. Stores will be closed and will remain closed through Sunday, as usual.

Most restaurants will be open, but public dancing, loud music, markets and festivals are prohibited statewide that day.

Known as Allerheiligen in German, the Christian feast honors all saints and is observed in several predominantly Catholic states, including Rheinland-Pfalz, Baden-Württemberg, Saarland, Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia.
