As the last full weekend of October approaches, the calendar is packed with fall festivals, Halloween fun and cozy countryside escapes.
Here are some of the best events happening in the area.
Lautrer Kerwe: Ride, snack and celebrate at this lively annual autumn festival in Kaiserslautern from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Carnival games, classic fair food and a festive crowd make it a fall favorite. Free admission.
Halloween hike with alpacas: Wander through the Eifel countryside with adorable alpacas at this cozy Halloween walk in Plutscheid at 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy festive lights, mulled wine, candy and pumpkin-filled charm along the trail. Cost is 35 euros per person to walk with an alpaca. For those without an alpaca, admission is 10 euros for adults and 5 euros for children. Reserve your spot via Instagram or Facebook.
Halloween golf scramble: Hit the greens, compete for prizes and enjoy lunch with your foursome at Woodlawn Golf Course on Ramstein Air Base from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Entry is $55 for members, $75 for non-members. Admission includes green fee, cart, range time, food and more. Register at the Pro Shop by Thursday.
Rocky Horror Shadow Show: Time warp into cult-classic chaos at this interactive screening at the Landstuhl Community Club at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. This 18+ screening includes a prop bag and demands full audience participation. Costumes highly encouraged! Admission is $20.
Boo Bash: Jump in the bounce house, stir up some witches’ brew and compete in a costume contest at the Ramstein Air Base community center from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. Try face painting, hands-on crafts and more family-friendly fun. Admission is $5 for ages 3 and up.
