The days are getting shorter, the air is turning crisp, and spooky season is creeping in.

Don’t let October slip by without getting in on the fun! From haunted runs and trunk-or-treating to murder mystery parties and ghostly getaways, the Kaiserslautern Military Community is packed with Halloween events for all ages.

Here’s your guide to everything eerie happening this month.

Trunk-or-Treating

Free trunk-or-treating opportunities abound this Halloween. Pick one, or dare to hit them all!

Patriot Military Automobiles: Stop by for candy, costumes and festive fun at Kaiserstrasse 22 in Kaiserslautern, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 30.

Kaiserslautern High School: Trick-or-treat safely and show off your costume at Building 3000 on Vogelweh, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 30.

Other Halloween Events

Hocus Pocus and Hyperpins: Bowl under the black lights, settle in for a big-screen showing of “Hocus Pocus” and enjoy three hours of family-friendly Halloween fun at Ramstein Bowling Center, Building 2139 on Ramstein Air Base, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 30. Admission is $45.95 for a family of four. Shoe rental included.

Grand Ghoul Gala: Dine, laugh and scream your way through a haunted dinner theater experience at the Ramstein Officers’ Club, Building 302 on Ramstein Air Base, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 30. Wear a costume, grab a seat and enjoy the show, presented by the KMC Theater Guild. Tickets start at $45 for adults, $30 for kids. Free for ages 3 and under.

Costumes and Critters: March in a costume parade, listen to spooky stories and meet real creepy-crawly creatures at the Ramstein Library, Building 409 on Ramstein Air Base, from 10:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 30. Win raffle prizes and enjoy a not-too-scary Halloween morning. Free admission.

Halloween Pub Trivia: Test your horror movie, serial killer and wizarding world knowledge at Armstrong’s Club, Building 1036 on Vogelweh, from 7 to 11 p.m. Oct. 31. Dress up to earn mystery prizes and show off your Halloween smarts. Free admission.

Samhain in Keltendorf am Donnersberg: Samhain, an Celtic festival, was a precursor to Halloween. At the event in Keltendorf am Donnersberg from 5 to 11 p.m., expect a torchlight procession, a chance to make straw dolls and Celtic leather bags, and a performance by Irish folk band the Heebie Jeebies. Oct. 31. 7 Euro, 4 Euro ages 4-12, $19 Euro family ticket available. Advance tickets are required.
