Monte Morin ©Stars and StripesIraq, August, 2006: Spc. Chris Rivera, 25, of Little Rock, Ark., mans a guard tower at Observation Post Two, just off the shores of picturesque Lake Habbaniyah in western Iraq. Rivera and the rest of Colt Platoon, Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment were responsible for keeping tabs on a major supply route and oil pipeline that skirted the lake and connected Camp Ramadi with a U.S. airstrip in Taqaddum, known as TQ. “Do I like it here? Oh yeah,” said Staff Sgt. Jose Garza. “It’s great. It gets us out of Ramadi and we’ve got something to do other than pulling FOB security there.”
