Jack Benny in Tokyo, 1960
©Stars and StripesTokyo, April, 1960: Comedian Jack Benny plays a samisen, a three-stringed Japanese lute, during an interview in his suite at the Imperial Hotel. With him is his wife, Mary Livingstone. Benny's alleged struggles with the violin were a focal point of his routine, but he was actually a decent violinist who played concerts with symphony orchestras to benefit musicians' retirement funds.
