From the archives: An airman works in a C-17 cockpit at Ramstein Air Base, 2008

Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Jan. 29, 2008: Air Force Staff Sgt. Cedric Austin, an aircraft electric and environmental journeyman with the 723rd Air Mobility Squadron, re-attaches a fuse panel in a C-17 cockpit on the flight line. The first of two C-17s from Air Mobility Command will begin staging missions out of Ramstein. Up to four aircrews from various reserve units will be filling Air Expeditionary Force rotations, saving money on trans-Atlantic flights for missions within Europe and Africa.
