From the archives: Steel mesh road is laid across Korean beach for amphibious force, 1962

South Korea, August 1962: A truck lays a portable road of steel wire mesh ahead of it across the soft sand of the beach as other vehicles of the amphibious force follow. The device enabled heavy armored equipment to move swiftly inland after the beachhead had been established.
