WASHINGTON, August 7, 2018: Air Force veteran Joseph M. Hish Jr., 90, holds back tears as he reaches out to touch a special gift he received during a ceremony in Washington D.C. on Purple Heart Day. The glass-encased framed board contained military medals and paraphernalia belonging to Hish’s father, World War I veteran Pfc. Joseph Mark Hish. Read more here.
