Pointe Du Hoc, France, June 6, 2001: French schoolchildren present dignitaries wreaths to place at the Pointe du Hoc Monument at the D-Day ceremony. This marked the 57th anniversary of the D-Day landings and the capture of Pointe du Hoc by elements of the 2nd Ranger Battalion under Lt. Col. James E. Rudder. At right is Honorary Regimental Col. Ralph Puckett; next to him is Col. P. K. Keen, commander of the 75th Ranger Regiment. The 75th participated in this year’s ceremony and re-enlisted two of its soldiers at the Pointe du Hoc monument before the ceremony.
