From the archives: Louis Armstrong arrives at Frankfurt Rhein Main, 1955

Rhein-main Airport, Germany, Oct. 27, 1955: Jazz musician Louis Armstrong smiles at the camera as he arrives at Frankfurt Rhein-Main airport. The world-famous trumpet and cornet player and scat singer was set to play at Frankfurt’s Congress Hall with his latest collection of “All Stars.” The Frankfurt stopover was the next to last for the jazz ensemble. Berlin was the last on the 12-city tour. Satchmo and his crew would play for two nights there.
