Frankfurt, Germany, April 17, 1949: A group of dependent and local children stand around with baskets filled with eggs. The children scoured the grounds of the Palmgarten, Frankfurt’s botanical Palm Garden, for eggs on Easter Sunday, April 17, 1949.

Baskets, bags, and boxes in hand they ran around trying to find the rainbow-colored eggs in the hopes of finding most of them to take home one of the prizes given out for the most eggs found. The traditional Easter Egg Hunt was sponsored by the local Allied Women’s Club.
