The 3rd, disbanded the previous year as the 16th Air Force assumed command in a shuffling of European Air Force units, will officially be returned to duty Friday in a ceremony at Ramstein Air Base. The Mildenhall office of the unit will see an influx of new personnel but few operational changes with the name change, a spokesman for the 16th Air Force said at the time.
