Ramstein, Germany, Oct. 9, 2007: Airman 1st Class Hazen Sanders, with the 435th Logistics Readiness Squadron, prepares equipment to refuel a C-17 at Ramstein Air Base. Flight crews nicknamed the Globemaster aircraft “the Moose” because during ground refueling the aircraft’s pressure relief vents make a sound which resembles the call of a female moose in mating season.
