Seoul City Airport, South Korea, Dec. 26, 1960: Col. and Mrs. Fred Ruff have a busy Christmas, giving toys and serving refreshments at their home to 50 children from the Sung Nam Orphanage near Seoul. The youngsters had Christmas dinner at the Seoul City Airport mess hall.

The Ruffs were one of many American families who invited Korean orphans to share Christmas with them. Stockings hang from a line above Korean children sitting at a table as Col. Fred Ruff and his wife Annie hand out gifts and chat to the children of the Sung Nam Orphanage on Christmas day. Col. Ruff and the 6146th Air Force Advisory Group built a permanent home for the orphanage in October 1960.
