Khost Province, Afghanistan, April 12, 2012: Soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment stand in the alley where Staff Sgt. Damian Remijio and Pfc. Zachary Fitch were wounded in a firefight earlier that day after they descended on the village to find the source of the mortar rounds that hit 100 feet outside their outpost — Combat Outpost Sabari. Ready to head home after finding nothing, the men were ambushed.
