The U.S. Space Force has a new look for ceremonial occasions.
Its honor guard stepped out with a new dress uniform over the weekend during the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington. It is the “latest step the force has taken in establishing a unique culture and visual identity,” the service said in a news release Friday.
“The public will now be able to immediately recognize us as Guardians and key members of America’s warfighting capabilities,” said Chief Master Sgt. Ross Koehler, senior enlisted leader for the USSF Honor Guard, in the release.

It replaces the modified Air Force service uniforms that guardians have worn.
The new design draws colors from the force’s service flag, Operational Camouflage Pattern uniform name tape and Class A uniform, a separate service news release said. The ceremonial ensemble is completed by a Space Force blue belt, cap and cord worn over the left shoulder.
“The guidance for the new uniform was released Jan. 13, 2026, and took eight months for the Honor Guard to make finishing touches to their ceremonial uniform,” the service said in the release.
