Missing USS Harry S. Truman sailor found dead at Naval Station Norfolk

A sailor who went missing from the USS Harry S. Truman more than a week ago was found dead at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia, the Navy said.
Engineman Fireman Apprentice Isaac Benjamin Morris’ body was found Friday after he had been missing since June 14. He was discovered in the water near the piers at the naval base, The Virginian-Pilot reported Tuesday.
“The entire Truman team is grieving the loss of Fireman Apprentice Isaac Morris,” said Capt. Daniel Prochazka, commanding officer of USS Harry S. Truman. “Our hearts are with his family, friends and shipmates, and we are focused on supporting them with care and compassion during this difficult time.”
The Navy has not released a cause of death, and the incident remains under investigation.
Morris, of California, joined the Navy in October 2025 and reported to the Truman in April. His service record lists no awards or decorations.
