The U.S. Navy helped rescue 14 mariners stranded in the Northern Arabian Sea on Sunday, according to U.S. Central Command.
After receiving a distress call, a Navy P-8 aircraft located the mariners and deployed a life raft for them to board.
Eleven were later recovered by the Motor Vessel Jabal Ali 9, while an MH-60 Sea Hawk helicopter from aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln rescued the remaining three after rough seas capsized their raft, CENTCOM said.
The guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy also responded to the distress call, CENTCOM said.
