5 things to know about Key Bridge collapse, efforts to rebuild Baltimore span

Wednesday marked three months since the container ship Dali knocked down the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The collapse killed six construction workers, partially blocked Baltimore’s shipping channel until June and eliminated one of three harbor crossings in the city, slowing vehicular traffic.

Cargo ship that crashed into Baltimore bridge reaches Virginia port

The 984-foot Dali crossed the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel and entered Norfolk waters around 5 a.m. The ship was escorted by the U.S. Coast Guard as it entered the Elizabeth River — the Coast Guard Cutter Sailfish, an 87-foot patrol boat, provided a 500-yard safety zone around the Dali.

Cargo ship Dali now expected to head to Virginia, will offload containers

A convoy of seven vessels is expected to sail the length of the Chesapeake Bay on Monday in what U.S. Coast Guard Cmdr. Baxter Smoak described as a “big milestone.” The vessel will be accompanied by four towing tugboats, a Coast Guard vessel and a work boat from a marine salvage company.
