Fort Hood military police involved in fatal traffic accident

A fatal traffic accident involving a military police vehicle occurred Tuesday evening at Fort Hood, base officials confirmed.

The collision involved the police vehicle and a soldier on a motorcycle, who died following the accident, according to Army Criminal Investigation Division.

It occurred at about 6 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of 62nd Street and Legends Way, a stretch where units with the 1st Cavalry Division have their headquarters buildings.

The area was closed to traffic for about three hours Tuesday, according to Fort Hood.

CID is leading the investigation into the accident and did not provide further information.
