Two soldiers were shot and killed in an apartment outside of Fort Sill, Okla., on Saturday, and a Marine suspected of firing the weapon was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to local police.
Pfc. Chamill London, 19, and Spc. Jabari Roebuck, 20, were found dead at the Timbers Apartments in Lawton, just south of Fort Sill. Both were air and missile defense crew members assigned to 5th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 31st Air Defense Artillery Brigade.
Police identified the suspect in the shootings as Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Lemondre Wilson, 21, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his vehicle on Interstate Highway 35 near Perry, about 150 miles north of Lawton, according to Lawton police.
Police have released few details about the incident and are still investigating.
Wilson and London, both from Illinois, were previously married, and their divorce was finalized July 1, according to Oklahoma court records.
London enlisted in the Army’s delayed entry program in 2024 and entered basic training in May 2025, according to her official service record.
Roebuck also entered the Army in Maryland through the delayed entry program in 2024. He entered active service in October 2024, according to his service record.
Wilson enlisted in May 2024 as an administrative specialist, according to his service record. He had been assigned to the Marine Corps School of Artillery at Fort Sill since May 2026. Prior to that, he served at Twentynine Palms, Calif.
