The Army late Thursday announced the names of two generals it had counseled for their involvement in the shipment of sensitive nuclear components to Taiwan.
Brig. Gens. Lynn A. Collyar and Michael J. Lally III, received nondisciplinary "memorandums of concern," according to the Army.
Both had commanded the Defense Distribution Center, which at times had responsibility for the misdirected boxes containing the nuclear missile fuses.
The Army said that it had counseled the officers but that the action would not impact their careers and both continue to serve "with distinction."
Collyar currently is the commanding general of the U.S. Army Ordnance Center and School at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. Lally is the commanding general of the 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command now serving in Iraq.
