A U.S. Army civilian who worked at the Document Automation and Production Service, Europe facility in Grafenwöhr, Germany, was found dead in his office Wednesday.

Robert Lee Launius Jr., 48, had been the facility’s supervisor since September 2003, according to an Army news release. He had worked for the service since 1998.

A veteran, Launius retired from the Army after 20 years of service in January 1997. He began his civil service career in Vicenza, Italy.

The Brooklyn, N.Y., native is survived by his wife and son.

No memorial service plans have been announced, the release stated.
