The Europe Regional Medical Command’s retention team beat four other regional medical command teams to garner Army Medical Command’s early bird award for meeting fiscal 2011 re-enlistment goals.
The team met its goal by retaining 142 active-duty soldiers and seven reservists by Nov. 2, according to an ERMC press release.
Last year, the team met its goal of re-enlisting 254 active soldiers and 18 reservists by Feb. 24, 2010, to get the early bird award.
By the end of fiscal 2010, ERMC had re-enlisted 508 active soldiers and 35 reservists, an ERMC spokesman said.
Retention goals are based on a percentage of soldiers eligible for re-enlistment.
