The Army has announced a series of general officer promotions affecting downrange commands and the Southern European Task Force. Among the announcements:

Brig. Gen. Daniel B. Allyn, the chief of staff, XVIII Airborne Corps and Multi-National Corps — Iraq, will get his second star.

Brig. Gen. Charles T. Cleveland, en route to serve as commander of Special Operations for the U.S. Central Command, will also get his second star, as will Brig. Gen. Jeffrey J. Dorko, currently the commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Gulf Region Division.

Brig. Gen. Michael Ferriter, currently effects coordinator for Multi-National Corps — Iraq, will also be promoted to major general, as will Brig. Gen. William B. Garrett III, commander of the U.S. Army Southern European Task Force (Airborne), Italy.

Others set to get their second star include: Brig. Gen. David G. Perkins, deputy chief of staff for strategic effects, Multi-National Force — Iraq; Brig. Gen. Michael S. Tucker, the deputy chief of staff, Operations, International Security Assistance Force, Afghanistan; and Brig. Gen. James M. Milano, commander of the Civilian Police Assistance Training Team in Iraq.
