RAF MILDENHALL, England — An airman killed in a motorcycle crash near Bury St. Edmunds on Saturday has been identified by U.S. military officials as Staff Sgt. Dovvom Torres. Local authorities say two other people also were involved in the accident. One is in critical but stable condition.

The Suffolk Constabulary would not disclose details of the accident, which is under investigation, but in a release, appealed for witnesses to come forward. The release said the third person was uninjured.

Torres, 30, served as an aircraft fuel systems craftsman with the 48th Component Maintenance Squadron based at RAF Lakenheath, according to the 48th Fighter Wing press office.

“Sergeant Torres was an exceptional NCO and valued patriot,” Col. John T. Quintas was quoted as saying in a press release. “His family, Liberty wingmen, and countless friends in the United Kingdom and across the United States Air Force will mourn his death. Please remember all of them in your thoughts and prayers in the upcoming days and weeks ahead.”
