Residents living on Laughlin Air Force Base in Texas are under a mandatory boil water notice, the base announced in a news release Thursday.
The notice was issued due to a “water line break and reduced system pressure,” according to the release.
Beginning at 5 p.m. local time, residents must bring all tap water to a rolling boil before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing their teeth, or washing their faces and hands, the base said in a Facebook post. Officials also recommend using bottled water as an alternative.
Repairs are expected to be completed by 9 a.m. on Friday. However, residents must continue boiling their water until an all-clear notice is given on the installation’s Facebook page, the base said.
