Airman Brandon Freeman, who was reported missing by Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico in July, has been found, according to an updated Facebook post from the base.
“Brandon Freeman has been safely located with the help of local law enforcement. Thank you to the community for mobilizing to assist,” the post said.
Cannon AFB provided no further details.
Freeman was last seen on July 13 at approximately 3:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of S Lea Steet in Clovis, N.M., a spokesperson for the base said in an email. He was reported missing three days later in a news release asking for the community’s help in finding him.
The July news release also stated that Freeman had a recent history of drug abuse and was believed to be experiencing a mental health crisis.
The incident is under investigation by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, the spokesperson said in an email Tuesday.
Cannon AFB, which is about 8 miles west of Clovis, is home to the 27th Special Operations Wing under Air Force Special Operations Command and about 5,000 personnel.
