An active-duty airman assigned to Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico was reported missing Thursday, according to a Facebook post from the base.
Airman Brandon Freeman is believed to be experiencing a mental health crisis and has a recent history of drug abuse, according to the post.
“We appreciate the continued support of surrounding communities as we work together to bring this Airman to safety,” the post says.
Freeman is an Asian male standing at approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with brown eyes and black hair. He has tattoos of a moth and a scorpion on his right arm and a yin and yang tattoo on his left arm, according to Cannon Air Force Base.
The 27th Special Operations Wing said on Facebook that it was working with local law enforcement agencies to locate Freeman.
Anyone with information about Freeman’s whereabouts is asked to contact law enforcement, call 911, or contact the Air Force Office of Special Investigations at (571) 305-8484.
Cannon Air Force Base, which is about 8 miles west of Clovis, N.M., is home to the 27th Special Operations Wing under Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) and is home to about 5,000 personnel.
