Air National Guard units from across the country are in Hawaii for the latest iteration of Sentry Aloha, a large-scale exercise hosted by the Hawaii Air National Guard’s 154th Wing, which is the largest wing in the ANG.
Sentry Aloha 26-1 began on Jan. 14 and is slated to continue until Wednesday. The exercise, which has been held for more than 20 years, is intended to provide realistic combat training.
The current iteration involves over 1,000 personnel and 41 aircraft from seven states, according to the Hawaii Air National Guard, up several hundred from the roughly 700 personnel involved in the exercise two years ago.
