Hanau, West Germany, June, 1963: Members of the honor guard hold on to their hats to avoid losing them to the downdraft from helicopter rotor blades as President John F. Kennedy arrives in Hanau. Honor guards from the U.S., West Germany, France and Canada were on hand to welcome the president, as were more than 15,000 soldiers who lined a mile-long parade route.
