John "Hans" Kurth, 31, of Columbus, Wisc., the Bravo Company commander, and Spc. Jason Ford, 21, of Bowie, Md., his driver. The two men were killed by a roadside bomb as they patrolled in Tikrit. Their 1st Infantry Division unit deployed to Iraq from Schweinfurt, Germany, in February.
