Nierstein am Rhein, Germany, October, 1947: At the Louis Guntrum winery, grapes brought in from the vineyards are poured into a large vat. The 1947 wines were not expected to be a top vintage because of a drought in the Rhinehessen area, on the west bank of the Rhine between Bingen and Worms.
