Okinawa, August, 2002: Marine Sgt. Orlando Thompson breaks the surface and catches his breath after a successful exit from the Modular Amphibious Egress Trainer, commonly called a helo-dunker. The new system was designed to train all Marines to survive a water ditching in a helicopter, training that was once only available to air crews.
