Gen. Eisenhower inspects an F-84E jet, 1952

Neubiberg Air Base, West Germany, April, 1952: Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, inspects an F-84E jet. Seventy-two similar aircraft had soared overhead to welcome Eisenhower and his entourage to the base, which was located just south of Munich.
