Andy Rooney, war correspondent

Andy Rooney is today best known as a syndicated columnist and resident curmudgeon on CBS' 60 Minutes, but during World War II he was an outstanding reporter for Stars and Stripes, covering the air war in Europe. He was one of the first journalists to accompany an air crew on a bombing raid over Germany.
