Through July 13: Theater at a castle
One beauty of the theater lies in its ability to transport an audience to another place and time. And what could make the experience more evocative than watching the drama unfold against the backdrop of an ages-old castle?
The American Drama Group Europe established Castle Tours in 1995, and the troupe tours some of the Continent’s most recognizable landmarks during the summer. This year, the group performs not one, but three, Shakespearian plays: “Macbeth,” “Much Ado About Nothing” and “King Lear.”
If you’re based in Germany, you’re probably not far from one of the group’s performances of “Macbeth.”
A sampling of dates and venues: June 25, Schloss Heidelberg; July 4, Burg Trausnitz in Landshut; July 5, Burg Hohenzollern; July 6, Schloss Sigmaringen; July 8, Schloss Dennenlohe in Unterschwaningen; July 9, Schloss Mainau; July 11, Schloss Würzburg; July 13, Schloss Hohenschwangau.
