No matter the variables, flying is not going to be pretty -- or painless -- in the next few months.
In the rolling hills of eastern France lie the remains of 10,489 Americans who gave their lives for their country.
Casualties were high in World War II's Operation Cobra. Many Americans who fell here never left France, and 4,408 are buried at Brittany American Cemetery on the outskirts of the small town of St. James.
