Munich has something for everybody. Sure, it’s a cliché, but in the case of the capital of Bavaria, it fits as well as a snug pair of lederhosen.
Aachen and Bamberg are my two favorite cities in Germany. Both reek of history and drama, their medieval sections are wonderful, and, in my opinion, they have the best cathedrals in Europe.
It’s midmorning on a Sunday near Naples, Italy, and the leaves are rustling in the breeze. Frogs murmur from the shallows while birds cry out as they lift themselves over a glassy blue lake.
An airport is a fascinating place. People coming and going. Airplanes taking off and landing, being loaded and unloaded. It’s a place where people from around the world converge.
Part peppy corporate brainwashing, part peek inside the uber-cool work lives of hipster techies, the Zappos tour will leave you a little creeped out by the aggressively jolly corporate culture.
There are bigger art museums for sure, and there are perhaps better ones. The Städel in Frankfurt, Germany, however offers a wonderful slice of 700 years of art history — from 1300 to the present — in one visit.
